Friday Finds

Lip Print Available at Waiting on Martha

Finally Friday! This is our last weekend in Cinci before a crazy month full of travel in August/early September. We plan to spend it catching up on work/things around the house and seeing friends. August is always exciting because not only is it my birthday month, it's this blogs birthday AND we have a lot of fun stuff going on. I hope you guys get to enjoy the weekend, but before you do, catch up on what I loved this week below.

PRODUCT FINDS

It's the last few days to shop the #NSale before prices go up! Check out my posts hereherehere, and here to get some last minute shopping inspiration!

I'm eyeing this beauty for my home office.

These fringe booties would be perfect for fall. I also love the name ;).

My dream bag in my favorite fall hue. Excuse me while I swoon.

NON-PRODUCT FINDS

Did you guys watch the finale?! This show is my absolute guilty pleasure and I was THRILLED with the outcome!

I'm obsessed with this song.

This beauty hack is brilliant.

I need to get going on this list.

Happy (almost) August!

Mulan Bun

You may be looking at this outfit and thinking it's pretty normal for me. Well, you're correct. What's different for me in this look is the hair. Honestly, before I worked for a beauty company, I never did anything to my hair other than straighten it. No color, no layers, no nothing. It was just straight. In the last few years, however, I've started experimenting with different colors, lengths, and styles. I've seen a lot of bloggers I love (like Aubrey and Katey) rock this half bun but never thought I could pull it off. I've been trying to not put heat on my hair everyday, so I gave this a go at an attempt to style 4 day old hair. I don't hate it! It's definitely different for me but was such an easy way to disguise dirty roots and let my curls from yesterday stay loose. The rest of the look is full of pieces I love. These shoes are the perfect pop of color and I love these shorts as an alternative to my rag & bone shorts that I wear all the time (like herehere, and here as of late) . The under $40 price tag doesn't hurt, either! So, that wraps up my out of the box looks for the week. I hope you've enjoyed them, because I sure did!

LBR (Little Black Romper)

Woah, guys. This look may be the most out there for me yet. I tried this on at Pretty Pony Boutique and Cassie (owner + truth-teller) told me I had to have it. While I bought it so long ago, I have yet to wear it, and I think it's because I was scared. I think my looks typically tend to skew more classic and feminine, and this playsuit is super bold and daring. Not only does it have the deep neckline and open back, but the leather shorts are no joke, either. I figured it was about time I wore it, and what better occasion then girls night out?! I paired it with this equally fun clutch and my go-to sassy shoe for the perfect look for a night out on the town.

Hat Lady

I wasn't lying when I tweeted that all my looks this week were going to be a little out of my comfort zone. I rarely wear hats. I think the one documented time might have been this one. I bought this brown floppy hat from Target probably a year ago and never worked up the courage to wear it. It still had tags on it! But I decided it was time to finally give it a go and I actually really like how it looked! I resurrected some old favorites, like this blouse and these shoes, but I think the hat made them look new. This outfit was perfect for weekend brunch with the hubs in the most gorgeous weather. He even liked the hat on me! I have a feeling this hat will be on serious rotation as summer turns to fall!

PS- anyone have tips on how to shoot blog photos wearing hats?! I hate that my face got so shaded!

Cold Shoulder

While I love the off-shoulder trend (originally seen on me here), I'm not always certain I can pull it off. For one, I'm short, so I feel like it segments my body in a weird way. Also, I'm well-endowed in the chest region, so it's hard to get them to stay in place, not to mention I hate strapless bras. But when I found this one at Nordstrom, I loved the colors and fit. I've actually worn this way more than I thought I would have, and I dressed it up some with some heels and a bright lip for a Friday night out with the hubs at golden hour. What do you guys think of this trend?!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - Finds Under $50

Today's post is a round up of the best finds from the #Nsale that are all under $50. As I was making this collage, my mind was racing with all the styling ideas of just these few items alone! If there's anything I love, it's mixing and matching pieces to create unique looks, like {the dress and hat}, {the coat, leggings, and scarf}, {the leggings, coat and leopard flats}, and the {leggings and tunic}. If the pieces I'm mixing and matching are good value pieces, that's even better! I hope you find something you love below, as these are all (in my opinion) staple pieces that'll take you from summer to fall and even through winter! I already have the peacoat  from last year's #NSale and I snagged the scarf and hat for myself. this year.
