Friday Finds

image via Evermore Paper Co

Friday, we meet again! I have a busy weekend ahead of me preparing for 3 weeks of travel coming up! I'm going to Arizona for both work and a bachelorette party, then to Portland for my first trip of the year out there all before February 20th! So, this weekend will be spent getting a blowout and pedicure and packing! And maybe shooting a look or two ;) Below are some of the things I've loved this week. Enjoy!

These are the cutest ever!

This wallet is at the top of my wish list.

I've been loving athleisure lately and this is a great example of why!

This has me craving spring.

Have you entered my giveaway yet? It's the last day to enter!

This is beyond hysterical. Combines two of my favorite (VERY different) shows!

I want one!

Still wondering what to give/receive for Valentine's Day? Look no further!

Valentine's Date Night

I shared a more casual Valentine's outfit idea earlier this week (don't forget to enter the giveaway!), but today I wanted to share a more dressy option. I absolutely love mixing prints as a way to make a look more interesting (evidence herehere, and here). I wanted to go outside the traditional red dress for Valentine's Day and put together this fun and feminine look. A striped coat is a closet staple for me and throwing it over a floral dress was a no-brainer. I would definitely wear this on a date night with Mike. The cut of this dress is lady-like but interesting paired with the bold sunnies and bag. This is hot pink done right! Side note: I feel like I've been on a lifelong search for the perfect black pump and these are a dream come true and under $70! What's your date night go-to?

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

I know, I know. Everyone is doing a Valentine's Day gift guide right now. But, I wanted to do one anyhow, because for me, Valentine's Day is about so much more than just celebrating Mike and I's love. It's celebrating love. Period. The love I have for my family, friends, dogs, and of course, my husband. I remember back in my elementary school days when you'd have to write a Valentine for every student in the class. I loved that. Nobody should be left out on Valentine's Day just because they're not in a romantic relationship. So, below I'm incorporating gifts that would work for any of the ladies in your life. Whether it be your friend, colleague, significant other, sister, aunt, or whoever; I think any girl would be lucky to receive one these items as a gift. I'm also covering all price points as well as romantic/non-romantic gifts so you have lots of options to choose from. Also, be sure to check out yesterday's post for another great gift idea! Tell me, what do you like to give or receive for Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day Gift Giving w/ JORD Watches + *GIVEAWAY*

Who else cannot believe Valentine's Day is only 3 weeks away?! I've shared a lot of pink on my instagram lately in anticipation of the holiday. In fact, if this look and this look had a baby, it'd slightly resemble what I'm sharing today, which is a more casual look that would be perfect for a girls dinner or a cozy date with your S.O. The highlight of this outfit for me is the watch. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE watches, and this one from JORD is no exception. All of my watches are some shade and form of metal, but this wood one is a welcome addition to my collection. The beautiful silver hardware elevates the light color and goes perfectly with this look. Mike, like me, loves watches, and I think they would make a GREAT Valentine's Day gift! JORD has so many amazing options, like this and this for her, or this and this for him. If you purchase using this link, JORD will be kind enough to give Nines to 5 readers $20 off your purchase plus free shipping! Desk to Drinks

One of my favorite ways to make your closet work smarter instead of harder is to put together ensembles that can satisfy multiple occasions. Whether it be outfits that work for both work/play, weddings/brunch the morning after, gym/errands; it's all good. I no longer work in an office, but when I did and I knew I had an event after work, I would always try to put on something that would feel good all day. A pencil skirt, feminine blouse, and functional bag are key pieces in this look that work well for an all-day affair. The skirt is professional but still fun because of the print and the clutch is great for daytime essentials, like your keys and wallet, but transitions nicely to evening to hold your phone and lipgloss. The heels aren't too high so are comfortable to wear for a long day. This outfit would even be great for a classy Valentine's day date! All in all, you're sure to impress at the office and after hours in a look like this!

Mixing Metals

One thing that my matchy-matchy self has had to work hard to get on board with is mixing metals. I'm so prone to pairing gold with gold and silver with silver. However, sometimes it's nice to switch things up. I was so excited when I got this coat on sale at J.Crew. I had my eye on it for so long and finally pulled the trigger. This color is called "dusty ginger", which I think is hilarious. Although the coat has gold hardware, I thought the soft shade would pair nicely with some silver details. My bag has a brushed silver look but the chain is gold. The polka dots on my scarf are a deep silver, almost pewter color, and I thought it was a fun piece to finish off the look. Do you mix metals?!
