Lacy Edge

I styled this skirt last week in a more professional way, and today I wanted to share how I'd give it an edge to wear at night. A moto jacket is such an easy way to transition from day to night. They're chic but fun and give an otherwise polished look a sassy element. I love my blush pink jacket [previously seen here + here, also here] and think it pairs perfectly with the leopard clutch. Against the ladylike lace skirt, these edgy details give it a whole new feel.

Spring 2016 Must-Haves + Sales

image via Bows & Sequins

Who else can believe it's almost March?! With the turn of seasons, I wanted to share some things I think every woman should have in her closet for this spring. I did this in the fall and it was a huge hit. With the return of warmer weather, my mind immediately travels to bright colors, vacations, and the loss of layers. I've broken down my recommendations into categories so it's easy to figure out what you have and what you still need. Let me know if you have any questions based on what I'm sharing below!

Also, as luck would have it, some of my favorite retailers are having big sales to kick off spring!

  • an extra 30% off here with code HOWNICE [ends 2.28]
  • buy one, get one half off here [no code needed, ends 2.28]
  • save 20% off $60+ here with code 3290 [ends 2.28]
  • get $50 off $200 here with code FRESH50 [ends 2.29]
  • save up to 75% off here [ends 2.28]
  • an extra 30% off here with code HAPPY [ends 2.27]

For spring, I always suggest having a good pair of denim, a fun skirt, a pair of shorts, and a few staple dresses. Keeping things basic and neutral allows for a lot of mixing and matching, which is great for the springtime.

To me, shoes are the most fun part of transitioning to spring. You can tuck away your boots and bring out fun booties and feminine pumps. Lace-ups and gladiators are going to be huge this season, and they come in everything from flats to sky-high heels.

Putting away blanket scarves and bringing out more spring-y accessories is always such a satisfying experience. Lighter scarves and brighter colors are always must-haves for the new season.

Spring jewelry is always too cute. Stones are big right now and I love the chunky textures paired with fun colors. I'll always welcome dainty gold jewels, but spring is the perfect time to experiment with something a little more bold.

Friday Finds

I don't know about you, but I am definitely ready for the weekend. The colder temps returned and it sort of has me in a funk. Hopefully some fun times with loved ones will put some pep back in my step! Even though it's colder outside, spring has definitely sprung in the online shopping world, so below are some of the things that caught my eye. Enjoy!

This has me craving vacation.

These scream spring and are under $50.

This is gorgeous and on super sale.

Snow Day

Earlier this month we got some serious snow on Valentine's Day! Since we had the next day off of work, Mike and I ventured out to get some fun pictures! I really hadn't seen snow this season since I was out of town the previous "real" snowfall. While I can't wait for spring (and hope that was the last snow), it was fun to get out and be playful. My SOREL Tofino boots are my favorite snow boots and I was excited at the chance to actually wear them in the snow! I found two places that actually still have the exact ones that I do, so grab them now if you've been wanting them!

Girl Boss

I'm always talking about how much I love to mix up workwear and pair unexpected pieces for polished office looks. Surely you remember this look and this look. Well today I'm doing it again. This lace skirt is so unbelievably gorgeous. And at under $70, it looks classic and chic without breaking the bank. Paired with this (also super affordable) cape, this look will go down as one of my favorite business casual looks. I felt powerful and like I could command any room in this look. I've been giving Rose Quartz a lot of love lately, so figured it was time to give Serenity a shot. The pop of color from these pumps was the perfect addition to the black + white palette.

Skirt: Express // Top: Splendid // Cape: SheIn c/o (under $30) // Necklace: Baublebar // Heels: Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps (similar options here + here + here) // Sunnies: Nordstrom (only $12) // Rings: Stella & Dot // Watch: Michael Kors // Bag: Prada
